1. Who We Are

Foose+ operates a fashion marketplace connecting buyers and vendors in Ghana. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

2. Data We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored encrypted).
• Location: city, neighbourhood, and approximate coordinates — used to show nearby vendors and personalise your experience. This is optional.
• Order and transaction data: items purchased, shipping addresses, payment status, and escrow history.
• Profile content: avatar photos, bios, and vendor shop details you choose to add.
• Usage data: pages viewed, search queries, and product interactions, collected via server logs and analytics.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To operate your account and process orders.
• To facilitate secure escrow payments via Paystack.
• To personalise your feed and show vendors and products near you.
• To send order confirmations and dispute notifications.
• To detect fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following trusted processors to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Data is hosted on servers in compliance with applicable data residency standards.
• Paystack — payment processing and vendor payouts. Paystack is PCI DSS compliant. Card and mobile money details are handled entirely by Paystack and never stored on Foose+ servers.
• Google Maps— address autocomplete when you enter a location. Google's Privacy Policy applies to data sent to their APIs.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as required by Ghanaian law. Order records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).

6. Your Rights

Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Withdraw consent for optional data uses (e.g. location).
• Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

7. Cookies and Tracking

Foose+ uses essential cookies to maintain your login session and shopping cart. We may use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used and improve it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not function correctly.

8. Children's Privacy

Foose+ is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will remove the account promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Foose+ after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
